Wood Framed Mid / High Acoustic Ceiling Cloud - Painted Pine
Perforated hardboard behind the fabric. Bass and low mids pass through to the fill; from about 1 kHz up, part of the sound goes back into the room, so the ceiling doesn't sound over-deadened.
It sits inside the frame lip, so the depth doesn't change. Plate performance figures are predicted.
Our wood framed Mid / High ceiling clouds have a 2" core and absorb from 250 Hz up, in a solid painted pine frame with the fabric tucked into a fabric track just inside the bottom lip. They hang anywhere you have ceiling space to work with, so you can add absorption to a room without giving up wall space. Use them where the frame is meant to be seen.
Each cloud is a solid wood frame around 2" of 6 PCF rigid mineral wool, rated 0.75 at 250 Hz and 0.97 or better from 500 Hz up. The fabric track finishes the underside with no exposed staples, and the fabric is replaceable, so a color change later is a re-tuck rather than a rebuild. The top side is finished with an olive ripstop backer over the insulation, with a triangular corner block and a steel eye bolt in each corner.
Paint Colors
Choose from Pure White, Creamy, Accessible Beige, Kilim Beige, Sea Salt, Agreeable Gray, Repose Gray, Mindful Gray, Iron Ore or Tricorn Black, sprayed in a satin or velvet sheen. Every color is the same price.

Lighting Options
Clouds can be ordered with two recessed 6" lights, an LED uplight strip, or both, in standard white or Philips Hue (color changing, app controlled). Click any photo to see it full size.

- Recessed Lights: Two 6" low-profile lights set flush in the underside of the cloud.
- LED Uplight Strip: Runs around the top perimeter and washes the ceiling above with a soft glow.
- Installation: The recessed lights are mounted in the cloud before it ships but are not wired to each other or to power. The LED strip is not pre-installed; it is adhered along the top of the cloud after the cloud is hung.
- Electrical: All wiring and connections to power are done on site by a licensed electrician. If we install your clouds, our licensed electrician does the wiring. Reach out to us for a quote.
Absorption Coefficients
6 PCF rigid mineral wool, 2" core. Conservative figures: the lowest value in each band from published ASTM C423 data for 6 PCF rigid mineral wool board (ROCKWOOL ROCKBOARD 60 and Owens Corning 705). Values above 1.00 are shown as 1.00.
