Fabric Wrapped Acoustic Panels

Hard walls send sound straight back to the listening position: flutter echo, a smeared stereo image and harsh highs. Panels at the reflection points absorb it before it reaches you. Ours are a plywood frame around 6 PCF rigid mineral wool, wrapped in Guilford of Maine Anchorage 2335.

Broadband Panels

Broadband panels have a 4" core and absorb from 125 Hz up, through the low mids, mids and highs. They are the starting point for mix rooms, control rooms and home theaters.

Mid / High Panels

Mid / High panels have a 2" core and absorb from 250 Hz up. Use them where depth is tight, or in vocal booths and offices where flutter echo is the main problem.

Where They Go

  • First Reflections: Side walls between you and the speakers
  • Rear Wall: Behind the listening position
  • Ceiling: As a ceiling cloud

Other Finishes

The same cores come in a real wood frame as Wood Framed Panels, and behind a CNC cut birch face as Scatter Face Panels. For the low end, see our Bass Traps.

Questions

Should I get Broadband or Mid / High panels?

Broadband. The 4" core absorbs from 125 Hz up, and the 2" core falls off below 250 Hz (0.18 at 125 Hz against 0.60). Choose Mid / High only where depth is limited or flutter echo is the only problem.

How many panels does a room need?

It depends on the room size, its use and what is already in it. Start with the first reflection points on the side walls and the wall behind the listening position. Send us the room through our project questionnaire and we will lay it out.

How do the panels mount?

Every panel comes with an aluminum Z-bar cleat kit. One half screws to the panel, the other to the wall, and the panel drops on and sits flat. Floor legs, with or without locking casters, are available for free standing use.

What fabric do you use?

Guilford of Maine Anchorage 2335, an acoustically transparent fabric, in 50 colors. See them all on our Fabric Colors page.

How do they ship?

Small orders of 2 x 4' panels ship by UPS Ground. Larger orders and sizes ship by freight, calculated at checkout. Local pickup and local delivery with installation are also available.
